LOVING LIMERICK TLC4
We recently enjoyed decorating large hearts with a variety of recyclables as all classrooms participated in TLC4's Loving Limerick Valentines competition. All entries were displayed in the Hunt Museum, Limerick.
We have registered to be part of the TLC4 Clean-Up to take place on Good Friday, 30th March. Why not join us as we clean up the Cloverfield and Dromkeen areas?
VEX ROBOTICS
Senior room pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th classes greatly enjoyed participating in this year's Vex Robotics programme. The programme, which involved the building of a robot as well as learning how to drive and programme it, learning about STEM and robotics, researching a specific area of robotics, and design work, challenged the pupils in many ways over the past number of months. The pupils worked brilliantly together and prepared for the Regional Finals which were held in Dell, Limerick, on February 1st. At the finals the driving teams completed driving tasks both individually and with other schools' teams while other pupils set up the display area and were interviewed by the adjudicators. Yet another group made a STEM presentation on our chosen topic which was "Robotics in Dairy Farming: AMSs" and the programming team put their programmes to the test in the arena. All did very well and looked great in the T-shirts which they had designed, bearing the name of our robot "Clobot". Many thanks to all who made contributions towards purchase of the T-shirts for the class and to parent Glenn Flanagan, Dell, who was our link with Dell throughout the implementation of this new and innovative programme. We look forward to being part of VEX Robotics again next year. Well done all!

Limerick’s Live 95FM are overwhelmed with the support we received for the 2017 Live 95fm 95 Stop Tour across Limerick city and county. It gives us an opportunity to meet the people, communities, schools and businesses who work so hard each year to help us raise as much money as possible for these fantastic charities, without them, we would not be able to help the charities and the services they provide in the way we do.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank CLOVERFIELD NATIONAL SCHOOL for your support.

Lough Gur Storytelling Festival
The annual primary schools storytelling competition was held in the Honey Fitz Theatre in Lough Gur last evening (Friday, 21st October) and we were delighted to, once again, be part of this wonderful festival. All competitors in the Junior and Senior categories were excellent and all present were entertained by a great variety of stories. It was a delight to also listen to the storytelling of local seanchaí, John Carew.
Cloverfield NS has a strong tradition in this competition and this year was no exception. Our representatives in the Junior Category were 2nd class pupils Lucy Smalle and John Barry who together told the story of "The Old Woman and Her Pig". At the end of the evening this entertaining duo were declared winners of their category.
6th class pupil Grace Holmes was our Senior category storyteller and her telling of "Never Forget Ireland" was dramatic and emotional. Although not a prize winner, Grace's performance was highly commended. Well done all!
