March was a fun and busy month in the Infant Classroom!

Our Aistear theme was the Garden Centre. We really liked this theme and particularly enjoyed planting seeds!!

We spoke about the different things seeds need to grow. We decided to experiment with these things! Instead of soil we used cotton wool. We also had one pot which got no water and one pot which got no light. We planted our cress seeds on a Monday. On Wednesday we could see the edges of the seeds were turning white. On Friday, our cress was beginning to grow! We took care of them for another week and some of them grew very tall! The seeds in the dark grew a little bit but were a different colour to ours. However, the seeds which didn't get any water did not grow at all. We were delighted to see the cotton wool did work instead of the soil!

We explored printing in art! We used celery, lettuce and spaghetti to create pictures of flowers.

Our Mother's Day art also had a flower twist!

We explored length in maths. We measured each other with random things around the classroom!
