Our Aistear theme for February was fairy tales. This was a very fun theme and we really enjoyed it.
Some of our finished castles which we made using junk art!
We listened to the fairytale 'The Billy Goats Gruff' and designed bridges!
We listened to the fairytale 'The Princess and the Frog' and created our own frogs after learning the frog life cycle.
We continued with our gymnastics, trying out new rolls and balances.
Bhíomar ag déanamh éadaí sna ranganna Gaeilge. Bhaineamar taitneamh as!
We also designed pulleys after learning about push and pull forces.
More science!! We explored which items sink and which items float.
In maths, we were learning about weight. We predicted which envelope would be the heaviest and which would be the lightest before weighing them all with cubes.
February also meant... PANCAKES!!!
On Valentine's Day we read 'The Love Monster'. This story was all about a monster who was not loved by anyone. He looked everywhere for someone who would love him and finally found someone. We made our own little love monsters!
We also talked about how much we love Limerick! We all worked together to design our TLC heart using recyclable materials. We all got to make Love Birds out of old DVDs or CDs!
We finished February with a trip to a musical called 'School of Rock'. We really enjoyed the singing and dancing. Before the show, we all entered a colouring competition. Everyone did very neat colouring and Darragh Lane won a Smyths voucher! Well done Darragh!
