We had so much fun in April playing in the restaurant! We pretended to be chefs, waiters/waitresses and customers! We created our own menus and pizzas and played other food-related games!
We also read the story, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and created our own hungry caterpillars!
One of the funnest parts of our Aistear theme was learning about the different tastes. We talked about three different tastes: sweet, salty and sour. We tasted sugar for the sweet taste, salt for the salty taste and a lemon for the sour taste! We were then all given envelopes with different food inside. Our partner chose one for us to try and we had to figure out which taste it was. We had great fun!
We also did fruit bowl observational drawing! We got to use water colour pencils instead of paint.
More art!
Pat O' Dea came to visit us and show us how to dance! The infants had a ball with Pat and loved learning all the different steps as well as how to listen to music.
James Ryan also started football training with us!
We got to play musical instruments!
We learned about recycling and how important it is to help animals and the world.
We mixed shaving foam, glue and food dye to make puff paint!
We also got to decorate our own gingerbread man after listening to the scéal: 'An Fear Sinséir'. Bainimid an-taitneamh as!
