Weighing Sugar!

Christmaths!

We studied data before the Christmas holidays and decided to give it a Christmas twist!
We surveyed the school, asking everyone which movie was their favourite Christmas movie.
The winning movie was... HOME ALONE!

I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here!!!

We voted who we thought would win I'm a Celebrity. We now have only three celebrities left!
When we did our recount earlier this week, 8 people had voted for Adam, 7 voted for Joel and only 1 voted Scarlet.
I want you to write this as a ratio and then tell me what fraction of us voted the correct winner!

Hallowe'en Potions!!

We were studying capacity in Maths this week and decided to give it a Hallowe'en twist!!

Maths Week!

15th-23rd October 2016

We started Maths Week with a quiz with some tricky (and some not so tricky!!) maths problems and riddles. Congratulations to the winning team of Day 1! :)

On Day 2 of Maths Week, we did a Maths Relay Race!! Before running to the next person, we had to answer the question correctly. We did a few trial runs before our final. Congratulations to the winning team of Day 2 and to the other teams who did very well. :)

A Maths Hunt was arranged on Day 3 of Maths Week! The teams worked together to solve the clues to find the bean bags and there was only seconds between all teams!! Well done guys! :)

Our Maths Theme for Maths Week was Shapes and Symmetry, so on Day 4 of Maths Week, we experimented with symmetrical art! We made Symmetrical Sugar Skulls as well as symmetrical bats.
On the final day of Maths Week, we continued our Shapes and Symmetry by experimenting with our own tangrams! At first we used pictures to help and then we created some designs of our own.
All week, we worked in our maths groups to create a Maths game. These were then presented and played today. All the teams did excellently and it was a lovely finish to Maths Week. :)
More Tangram Ideas :)
